I'm sorry for those of you that don't care for the whole Twitter thing. I happen to like it because I've never written much anyway. I've always been brief. My chief complaint with college was term papers. I could write a paper with all the information necessary, and it would come out to three pages. When the professor wanted fifteen pages, you can see this was a problem. My parents said I was somehow born without the bullshit gene. I've never been talkative. Twitter is a godsend. I can tell people what I'm up to, what I think in the briefest way possible. It's an artform to say what you mean in 140 characters or less. Yes, there are those teenage-types that use some txt-language that is hard on your eyes and your brain, but there are people out there using Twitter properly and you cannot judge all users by a few select illiterate Twats.
My posts are exactly the same as they would be if I posted directly to LJ. They just look a little different. If you want to de-friend me just because they show up in a different format on page go ahead. I'm not going to go back and re-format every LoudTwitter post.
Good Twitter Feeds
(I don't have Stephen Fry on my list, he's a great man I love him, but his Twitter is one big ad for Macintosh. No thanks.)

Rainn Wilson The actor behind Dwight on The Office. His tweets are funny, smart, often goofy, and he sometimes post behind the scene photos from the show.

R2D2 Obviously not the real robot, but I just find his tweets adorable. (ex. *doot deet deet deet doop wooooo deet*)

Alaska Volcano Observatory I'm a bit obsessed with following the progress of the erupting volcano in Alaska. They have several webcams. When they aren't covered with snow or ash the view is quite lovely.

Rob Corddry Previously of The Daily Show, currently of the web-only show Children's Hospital.

Joel McHale of The Soup. Hilarious, sporadic tweets. Blames everything on Seacrest.
http://twitter.com/RyanSeacrest
Ryan Seacrest, needs no intro. Pretends Joel doesn't exist.
http://twitter.com/alandavies1
Alan Davies, of Jonathan Creek and QI. A bit loopy, talks of tits (the birds) and football a lot. Loves to watch 30 Rock.

Dule and James just joined, but they seem to be picking it up pretty quickly.

Date: 2009-04-06 05:44 am (UTC)I've been on Twitter too long to see it as the "next big thing" like most people see it anyway.
